Recast Homes is a design-driven Design + Build studio who believes in producing thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship while also delivering an excellent client experience. Recast specializes in the remodeling of kitchens, bathrooms and whole homes. Based out of Portland, Oregon, Recast Homes is run by principal designer, and licensed general contractor, Krisanna Sanders.

Krisanna's experience in designing and renovating multiple personal homes, and growing up in a home where she watched her Mother tackle any and every home project, is really the origin story of Recast Homes. She experienced the joy and satisfaction in both creating a beautiful design and then managing that design throughout the build process. She saw that the seamlessness in her own projects was not the common experience of the friends and family members around her. Tales of the classic remodel horror stories continued to unfold and she could see that a major contributor to the issue was a lack of process and continuity. Her experience in the corporate world, combined with a passion for beautiful design and quality craftsmanship, led her to develop a Design + Build business born from a process and systems perspective and rooted in the classic business principal of client satisfaction.

Recast Homes’ business model brings a vertically integrated architectural design and construction management process to your project by managing every aspect from start to finish. Because we are both your designers and your general contractor, it sets us apart from the others. The same team members that work tirelessly on the hundreds, if not thousands, of design details are the same team members that have day-to-day boots on the ground during construction, ensuring all of those details are being executed to plan. Simply put, we design with the construction in mind, and construct with the design in mind. In doing so, we are able to avoid costly errors, troubleshoot design-to-build feasibility earlier in the process, and control costs - all of which equate to a more successful project, and to our ultimate goal: client satisfaction.

Krisanna Sanders | Owner - Principal Designer - Licensed General Contractor

Born and raised in Portland, OR, Krisanna is a 6th generation Oregonian on her Mother’s side, and 4th generation on her Father’s side. She went to college in Michigan, where she received a BA in the liberal arts and during that time gained her first experience in construction site management as the College’s student director of the Habitat for Humanity international program,

Krisanna worked in medical device industry for 13 years as she supported her husband through the long journey of medical school, residency and fellowship training. Much to Krisanna’s surprise, she attributes a lot of her current spacial planning abilities, and mind for understanding complex construction principals, to attending countless surgical procedures and witnessing the interplay between tools, anatomy and imaging through endoscopic and fluoroscopic surgeries.

After hours, Krisanna loves to spend time with her family - two young daughters, husband, large dog and snaggle-toothed cat.

Kaley Gorman | Design Drafter - Project Coordinator

Kaley was also born and raised in Portland, OR and received a BS in Architecture from Portland State University. She has always loved architecture and design, and wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the residential interior built space. This led her to seek a job with Recast Homes, where she knew she could gain experience and exposure in both design and residential construction.

After hours you can find Kaley camping/adventuring with her partner, hanging out with friends and family, dreaming up plans for her little home, and planning her next international adventure!
